The X Factor
First off, let me say hello to all the loyal SUPLEXNEWS WIRE subscribers. All you new comers are welcome to enjoy pro wrestling's most informative wrestling news publication. And remember, much, if not all news you read here is coming first hand from actual professional wrestlers that still step in, over or through those steel cables you all call "ropes"!
If has been about 5 weeks since my last REAL DEAL
article, due to some west coast wrestling. It's great to be back in my element, and
offering the interested wrestling fans with up to date, no bullshit news. Those of you
that know me will enjoy the following. Maybe the rest of you will learn
something.
Pro wrestling is an entertainment industry.
Bottom line. The good are easily separated from the others, by their skills and talents
alone. But there is always the "blackball" or "blacklist" factor. This
does exist in wrestling, as it does in any entertainment field. You can be the most
gifted, skilled,
talented individual walking the canvas of any wrestling ring. If you are not a decent
person, your chances of making it anywhere are pretty much slim.
The reason I bring this all up is for the fact that there is something rotten happening in Denmark. Denmark being California in this instance. After being crowned the NWA world tag team champions with Curtis Thompson this past month in Sanger, Ca. it has been brought to my attention no such organization exists in that part of the country. All I know is that I was asked to come out to California to wrestle for a supposedly new restarted NWA, and now I find myself involved in some shady circumstances. I believe what the 14 official members of the NWA are telling me, so I will wait for legal matters to dissipate before I go into detail about all the lies and deceits that took place out west. Not only to me, but to ring veterans with 27 years in the business. I will say, however, that I went out there to help a supposed friend!
So why bring up "blackball" or
"blacklist"? Simply because after all this nonsense about a "real NWA"
emerging out west is squashed, you will all see and hear about the man that tried to use a
well respected name (NWA) illegally and disrespectfully. Hopefully enough people in the
business will become wise as to the operations out west, and put an end to it. Where ever
it may want
to pop up again in the future! There is no more room in pro wrestling for negativity and
back stabbing antics. Working together is what's going to make things happen.
This brings me to my next area of disappointment.
After such a bad time in Ca., I return back home to find the same type of thing happening
here, but on a much smaller scale. Granted, the independent circuit is an open market. But
there are certain territories that are focused upon by established organizations. This is
no secret to anyone where certain leagues always run.
i.e. MEWF always runs Baltimore. IPW always hits eastern Pa. MECW always hits the
Winchester, Va. area, and the NWL always hits Keyser, W.V.
I know for a fact, if MECW tried to run a show in Baltimore, Md. the shit would hit the fan. If MEWF tried to run a show in Jim Thorpe, Pa. ,..the IPW would be hot as hell. And understandably so! These areas are spots that took some time to develop into good drawing shows. Hard work and repeated entertaining cards are what built them. It's not right to move in like a vulture and feed off someone else's meal. So how do you think I feel after getting scammed for 4 weeks in L.A., and coming back home to hear the MEWF and Tyler Kates are running Keyser, W.V.
What makes this worse, is the fact that Tyler Kates is a 5'-6", 140 lb. self proclaimed, self taught wrestler. a.k.a. Tommy Hawk. And even more upsetting is the fact that Tyler Kates tries to train students and promote shows. I spent 10 years building my reputation and talent, and it becomes bothersome to have to even put a little thought into such issues. But what can you do in this great land of opportunity.
Bottom line is that you work hard to get where you can. Once you get there, never think the job is over. There will always be vultures around, just laying await for your ass to be left exposed. Getting to where you want is half the battle. Keeping it is the rest. Always try to be a good guy, and leave no one any reason to dislike, or want to hinder your progress or success. We all need friends in this business. Enemies are too easy and too abundant to find.
With that note, I would like to thank Shujan Agha for supplying informative wrestling news to the public. It is great to be back, and I am looking forward to getting back to my consistent "REAL DEAL" schedule. And all you "REAL NWA" officials, please get this all ironed out so I may unleash the dogs on all the rottenness in Denmark!!!!
ps....I rescind any NWA world tag team titles bestowed upon me in California!!!!
